Recipes: Healthy drinks

As we discussed in a previous blog post, water is a vital part of life and it is really important to stay hydrated. Today’s blog post is about the fact that staying hydrated can be fun if done right. This doesn’t mean that you can drink sugary drinks because even if they are advertised as healthy they are not. What you can do, is prepare your own naturally flavoured drinks to help you drink more water. Have a look at some of this “fancy water” recipes:

  1. Lemon water – simply squeeze a lemon in your water.
  2. Mint lemonade – not only that mint is famous for refreshing your breath but it can also be good for headaches, for digestion, for the skin and it can even help with weight loss. Simply add fresh mint leaves and lemon juice in hot water. For extra flavour add some more mint leaves just before serving – this drink can be served hot or cold.
  3. Fruit water – the options are almost endless. There are so many fruits to choose from but some of the best picks are: orange, grapefruit and orange slices and strawberries.
  4. Cucumber water – add cucumber slices in your water, let it sit in the fridge for a few hours and take them out before drinking.
