SGO: Sustainable Smoothies

You probably know already that smoothies are a great source of vitamins. If they are made from fruits, vegetables and other healthy ingredients, smoothies have great health benefits. Some of the other benefits of smoothies are: they are easy and fast to prepare, they contain a high dose of vitamins, minerals and/or proteins (depending on what ingredients you are using), they help you keep control of the sugar level in your blood, help you strengthen your bones, they can be served as a meal, snack, desert or drink and so much more. There are so many different types of smoothies out there. Some of the most popular are: dairy based smoothies, protein based smoothies and vitamin based smoothies.

Do you know what would make smoothies even better? If you could make them without using electricity for your blender! This would make them good not just for you but also for the environment. In case you are wondering how this can be possible, let us show you. We have the pleasure to invite you to the SGO Sustainable Smoothie Event on Monday, the 25th April, outside Loud (by the pond), between 12:00 and 15:00. We are going to borrow a special bicycle from the sports center and the energy obtained through pedaling will activate the blender. So what are you waiting for? Come and join us!
